How to setup a MacBook computer
A guide in setting up MacBook laptop. Some steps may vary depending on client’s requirements like the admin and user accounts to be created. It is important for clients to create an admin account as backdoor access aside from the user account, this will be useful in resetting the device.
Setup your MacBook:
Turn the MacBook on by opening the lid or pressing the Start button.
Set country or region: This sets the language and time zone for your Mac.
3. Set the Written and Spoken Languages according to the user's location, click Continue.
4. Skip Accessibility options by selecting "Not Now", user can set this up later on.
5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network: Choose the network and enter a password then click Continue.
6. Accept Data & Privacy by clicking "Continue".
7. Transfer information: Since we’re setting up a new computer, click "Not Now" in the Migration Assistant window.
8. Skip Apple ID sign in by clicking "Set Up Later", this can be done by the user later on.
9. Accept Terms and Conditions by clicking "Agree".
10. Create a Computer Account by filling out the required information. In setting up Account Name and Password, check for client’s requirements or use a password generator.
Ensure that credentials are securely recorded for client and Esevel support’s reference.
11. Tick Enable Location Services on this Mac, click "Continue".
12. Tick the boxes under Analytics then click "Continue".
13. Skip Screen Time configuration by clicking "Set Up Later".
14. Uncheck Enable Ask Siri and click "Continue".
15. Skip Touch ID configuration by selecting "Setup Touch ID Later".
16. Select an appearance then click "Continue".
Setup is now completed and Mac is ready to use.
