How to factory reset a Windows computer
Important:
This procedure will delete all personal files, applications, and settings from your Windows device.
Please keep your device plugged into the power outlet throughout the entire process, and do not interrupt it by closing the laptop lid, manually restarting the device, or putting it into sleep mode.
Reset your PC from Settings
Log in using the Admin account. Click the Start menu, then select the Settings gear icon, or press Windows + I to access it directly.
2. Click Update and Security, scroll down, and select Recovery.
3. Under the "Recovery" section, look for Reset this PC. Click on the Get started.
4. A new window will pop out.
Kindly select > Remove everything: This option deletes all personal files, apps, and settings.
5. After selecting Remove everything, it will ask you how would you like to reinstall Windows.
Please select > Local reinstall: This option uses the existing files on your PC.
6. Windows will present a summary of what will happen during the reset. Review the details carefully, then click Next to proceed.
7. Click on the Reset button. Your PC will restart, and the reset process will begin. This may take some time.
Reset your PC from the sign-in screen
If you can't open Settings, you can reset your PC from the sign-in screen. Here’s how:
Press Windows logo key + L to get to the sign-in screen, and then restart your PC by pressing the Shift key while you select the Power button > Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen.
2. Your PC will restart in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment.
2. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
3. Choose > Remove everything: This option deletes all personal files, apps, and settings.
Your PC will restart, and the reset process will begin. This may take some time.
