This plant originates from Tarai, Uttar Pradesh, India, and is now widely found throughout India. The Curry Leaf Tree is also cultivated in South India, Sri Lanka, China, Australia, the Pacific Islands, and Southeast Asia. It was introduced to Indonesia and South Africa by South Asian immigrants. Curry leaves are commonly used as a cooking spice to enhance the aroma of dishes, and are also used in hair care and traditional medicine.
It grows well in tropical climates from the lowlands up to an altitude of 1,600 m above sea level (m.a.s.l.). This plant requires plenty of water and sufficient sunlight. The optimum temperature range is 22–25

C, and the average annual rainfall is 1,400–1,800 mm/year. It prefers fertile, humus-rich, moist, and well-drained soil, with a pH of 5.5–6.5.
Stem (Batang) Finely hairy, with black bark.
Leaves (Daun) Compound, pinnate shape, has a distinctive aroma, dark green and shiny.
Flower (Bunga) Small white flowers, clustered, and fragrant.
Fruit (Buah) Round shape. Young fruit is green, mature fruit is purplish-black, with a diameter of 8–12 mm
Propagation is done through seeds and stem cuttings.
Before planting, clean the seeds and dry them in the sun for about two days. Place the seeds in a container and wait until roots grow, which takes approximately one week.
Treats diabetes, anemia, cholesterol, high blood pressure, kidney issues, and diarrhea. Also used to boost hair growth, reduce hair loss, and prevent premature graying.
