The Pakis Kelabang (Squirrel's Foot Fern) belongs to the Davalliaceae family with a distribution from the Malesian region to the Philippines. This plant grows optimally in open or partially shaded areas, on fertile to rocky soil near riverbanks, from the lowlands up to mountainous areas.

Rhizome: Thin, resembling a root.
Stem: From the rhizome grow elongated fronds (leaf stalks), which can reach up to 1.5 m in length.
Leaves (Pinnae): The leaflets are arranged singly pinnate, resembling a sword or spearhead.
Propagation: By division of clumps (runner), spores, and root tubers. On the roots, there are nodules that gradually enlarge, resembling tubers. Their size is larger than a marble, they are green, and become lighter brown as the tuber grows. One individual usually has 1–5 root tubers, which can develop into new individual plants.
Used as a remedy for dysentery, urinary tract infections, reducing heat or fever, and as an antibacterial.
