Daun Mangkok (Cup-Leaf Aralia) is one of Indonesia's rich flora often encountered as a hedge plant, ornamental plant, and can be used as a medicinal plant. Additionally, its young leaves can be consumed as a fresh side dish (lalap), raw salad (urapan), or cooked as a vegetable.
It is classified as a plant that grows easily with good adaptability. It is often found as a wild plant or along riverbanks. It grows well at altitudes of 1–200 m a.s.l.. It prefers open places exposed to sunlight or those that are slightly sheltered.
Stem: Woody, branched, round in shape, long, and straight.
Leaves: Cup-shaped (mangkok), simple, thick, round, with a heart-shaped base. The leaf venation is pinnate, and the color is dark green.
Flowers: Compound (inflorescence), umbel-shaped (payung), and green in color.
Fruit: Berry, flat, green.
Seeds: Small, hard, and brown.
Propagation is done using seeds, stem cuttings, or air layering from plants with good stems.
It acts as a diuretic (promotes urine excretion), treats mastitis (breast inflammation), prevents hair loss/enhances hair growth, prevents body odor, promotes wound healing, promotes breast milk production (ASI), and relieves toothache.
Polysciasaponin, carotenoids, β-carotene, anthocyanin, ascorbic acid, flavonoids, tannins, peroxidase, saponins, aurone, and chalcone.
Cuci bersih 5 lembar daun kemudian tumbuk hingga halus.
Gunakan ramuan di atas luka dan tutup dengan perban.
Ganti ramuan dan perban 2-3 kali sehari.
