This plant has been known as a medicinal and cosmetic plant for skin moisturizing for centuries. Additionally, Aloe vera can be utilized as a drink (nata de Aloe vera). Aloe vera contains polysaccharide enzymes that can help facilitate the digestive tract.
Grows in lowlands up to highlands at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l.). However, for best results, it is cultivated at an altitude of less than 1,000 m.a.s.l. The optimum temperature for its growth is between 28–32 °C, with an ideal pH of 5.5–6. Soil that is too acidic results in stunted growth. This plant is tolerant of drought
