( Amarylis Sp)
Amaryllis, with the botanical name Hippeastrum spp., has various varieties. There are a number of colors and patterns of Amaryllis flowers, ranging from red, orange, pink, white, and patterned amaryllis (amarilis batik). It is a flower originating from South America and some areas of Africa. In Indonesia, it is known by the name Amarilis.
Amaryllis is a flowering plant species originating from subtropical regions. This plant can be grown in Indonesia in areas with temperatures of 18 C to 20 C at night and 20 C−25 C during the day. Amaryllis flowers usually begin to bloom at the start of the rainy season. These flowers typically only last for 2–3 weeks because they are often exposed to rain, making them easily damaged.
Bulb (Umbi) Most Hippeastrum bulbs are tunicate (having a dry protective outer layer and concentric fleshy inner scales or leaf bases). The bulbs generally range from 5–12 cm (2 ′–5 ′′) in diameter and produce two to seven evergreen or deciduous leaves that are 30–90 cm (12 ′′ –36 ′′ ) long and 2.5–5 cm (1 ′′ –2 ′′ ) wide.Leaves (Daun) Hysteranthous (developing after flowering), sessile (carried directly from the stem or stalk), rarely persistent, and subpetiolate.
Flower (Bunga) The flowers are arranged in a pauciflor or pluriflor umbelliform inflorescence supported on an erect hollow scape (flower stalk).
Propagation is done generatively (seeds) or vegetatively (bulbs).
Antitumor, antiviral, and antimalarial properties.
Alkaloid compounds.
