Aurora Lipstik - Red Aglaonema
(Aglaonema sp.var.)
Aglaonema plants are believed to originate from countries in Southeast Asia or South Asia, such as southern China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar. In Indonesia, Aglaonema is known as Sri Rejeki because this ornamental plant is considered to bring good fortune or luck. Another name for Aglaonema that is important to know is Chinese Evergreen because the first people to cultivate it were Chinese. Meanwhile, another popular name in Thailand is ese Rainbow, which means rainbow from Thailand.
Aurora Lipstick has the advantage of being tolerant to low temperatures of 15 °C, and this plant continues to grow well above temperatures of 25 °C. This plant lives in lowland and mid-altitude forests with limited light intensity, around 10-30%.
Aglaonema roots are monocotyledonous plants, with fibrous roots often referred to as will roots because they grow from the base of the stem and are fibrous in shape.
Aglaonema stems are herbaceous, soft, and succulent.
Aglaonema leaves are highly variable, ranging in shape from oval to oblong to even delta-shaped. The leaf surface is smooth and hairless, with smooth edges. The shape of the leaf tips also varies, from pointed (acutus), acuminate (acuminatus), obtuse (obtusus), and rounded (rotundalus). The leaves are arranged alternately or opposite each other with stems hugging the plant stem.
Aglaonema flowers are very simple, including unlimited compound flowers, and are classified as spadix flowers. The flowers are grain-shaped and grow in the leaf axils.
The fruit is oval-shaped, initially yellowish-green in color, then turning red as a sign of ripeness.
Generative (through seeds) and vegetative (through cuttings and micrografting) propagation can be assessed in terms of seedling quantity and quality.
The lucky bamboo plant is one type of flora designated by NASA through air purity studies as an effective plant for removing household pollutants, such as formaldehyde and benzene, from the air.
