White Ginger
(Zangiber Officinali va. amarum)
Ginger originates from the Asia Pacific, spreading from India to China. Therefore, these two nations are said to be the first to utilize ginger, especially as an ingredient in drinks, cooking spices, and traditional medicines. Currently, ginger is widely cultivated in Australia, Sri Lanka, China, Egypt, Greece, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, and Pakistan. Jamaican ginger is of the highest quality, while India is the largest ginger producer, accounting for more than 50% of the world's total ginger production. Ginger belongs to the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), the same family as other gingers such as ginger (Cucuma xanthorrizha), black ginger (Curcuma aeruginosa), turmeric (Curcuma domestica), galangal (Kaempferia galanga), and galangal (Languas galanga). Regional names for ginger include halia (Aceh), beeuing (Gayo), bahing (Batak Karo), sipodeh (Minangkabau), jahi (Lampung), jahe (Sunda), jae (Java and Bali), jhai (Madura), melito (Gorontalo),geraka (Ternate), etc.
Ginger grows well in areas with an altitude of 200–1,000 meters above sea level (masl). Ginger also thrives in lush, moist, and shady areas. Ginger thrives in loose, slightly sandy soil with plenty of compost. Good soil types for growing ginger include andosol, red-brown latosol, and newly cleared forest land. Ginger requires 2,500–4,000 mm of rainfall per year. Ginger thrives in areas that allow morning sunlight to penetrate but are not exposed to direct sunlight.
Emprit ginger grows 70-80 cm tall.
Emprit ginger rhizomes have yellow skin and flesh. They are smaller than other types of ginger.
The leaves are alternate and have a darker green color than elephant ginger or small ginger. The leaves are approximately 2-2.5 cm wide and 7-17 cm long.
Propagation by rhizomes from quality parents (genetic, physiological and physical quality).
Anti-inflammatory drugs, joint pain medication, tonics, and cough medicine.
