Wednesday, May 18, 2016 @ 0900 CDT: Given the fact that I didn't anticipate a chase of *ANY* kind yesterday, what we ended up seeing south of Midland, TX was pretty damn good! The SPC had said to expect high winds and a high probability of hail, and they were absolutely correct. We saw some really nice structure, too, along with torrential rains and some local flooding. At times, it felt like hurricane feeder band conditions!

Anyway, I have uploaded a few shots from our day HERE, so check 'em out! (https://kingkey.smugmug.com/TornadoChase/Chase-2016/2016May16/)

Like yesterday, though, I have some serious doubts about our chase possibilities for today. It seems unlikely, but hey, I was wrong yesterday, so I'll just have to wait and see what the day will hold for us. I *do* know that at some point we will need to begin a northward migration, so it will only be a matter of time before that happens.

Wednesday, May 18, 2016 @ 1130 CDT: Well, for the second day in a row, I have been pleasantly surprised... because we *will* be chasing today after all! We're leaving San Angelo now... Destination? Del Rio, TX!

Wednesday, May 18, 2016 @ 1145 CDT: Well, I spoke too soon... *sigh* The 1630z just came out, and the chase is *off* now. Heading north. Oh well...
