Saturday, May 14, 2016 @ 0900 CDT: We started Friday's chase with the expectation that if we got really lucky, there would probably be some cells that would generate strong winds and some hail, but that tornadoes would be unlikely. Well, that's precisely what we got! Some of the winds were VERY strong, and the hail, though mostly pea-sized stuff, was in abundance! Then, after grabbing some dinner at a Pizza Hut, we had hoped to get a lightning display. We had a lot of trouble getting out in front of the line of storms because it was moving so fast, and then when we *DID* get out in front of it, we only had a minute or two to grab some shots of the amazing structure before we had to jump in the van once again! All in all, it was a really fun day of chasing, even if there wasn't any tornadic stuff going on!

You can see a few pictures from our fun day HERE (https://kingkey.smugmug.com/TornadoChase/Chase-2016/2016May13/).

As for today's plans, well, there's really nothing for us to chase, so we will likely simply migrate back to home base -- the Days Inn in Norman, OK -- for the Tour 1 folks to get ready to head out tomorrow. The Tour 2 folks will be arriving today and tonight, so the departing Tour 1 chasers will get to meet everyone and tell them of their adventures during the past two weeks.
