Tuesday, May 5, 2015 @ 0815 CDT: Wow! What a great (and surprising) chase yesterday was! I really had not expected much more than a decent chance of hail and some gusty winds, but we ended up seeing some absolutely gorgeous structure and enough hail to gather in drifts along the roads! It was other-worldly! I would love to show you photos, but to be honest, they're simply not ready yet. By the time we got some fast food dinner and then checked into out hotel in Fort Stockton, TX, my eyes just couldn't stay open for long. I will need to process those photos and post them for you later.
For today, it looks like we will likely be moving back north here in Texas, for another (potentially) good chase day. A few tornadoes may develop late this afternoon and into the evening, and hopefully we will be in position to see one of them before it gets too dark to safely chase.
As usual, I will try to send Twitter updates along the way.
Here's yesterday's travel map:

Oh, and we have left Fort Stockton now, and are headed north toward Lubbock.
