9:00 am MDT

Given the fact that we need to be back in Norman, OK before everybody on Tour 2 leaves on Sunday, my assumption has been that we would begin our trek back that way today. Will that be true? Now I'm not entirely convinced... Here's the SPC's version of the remaining three days of my 2010 chase:

I guess we'll find out pretty soon what the verdict is.

And, as usual, here's yesterday's travel map:

12:30 pm MDT

Well, we got our answer: This year's chases are effectively over. We're not going for the stuff up north, because of the distances involved and the low probabilities of severe storms. The overall environment has been pretty well washed out by all the activity of the past week, so it'll take a little while for things to get going again.

Anyway, as a result we have a bit of time before we all leave on Sunday. so we're headed to Hays, KS for tonight. From there, tomorrow will likely see us headed to Cawker City. KS (World's Largest Ball of Twine) and Lucas, KS (a couple of "points of interest" there).

6:00 pm CDT

Finally back in the Central Time Zone, we have checked into the Knights Inn (formerly EconoLodge) here in Hays, KS and will reassemble in a little while to go eat at Whiskey Creek. (Mmmmmm... RED MEAT!!! I need to have more before heading home on Sunday, and I just ---LOVE--- their wood-fired prime rib!)
