Tuesday, May 10, 2016 @ 0900 CDT: It was a **GREAT** chase day yesterday! I'm running a bit behind this morning, soI'll just keep this update quick. Here's today's outlook... and a link to a few pictures from yesterday:

Tuesday, May 10, 2016 @ 1415 CDT: Okay, since I was a bit hurried for time this morning, I neglected to mention a lot of what happened yesterday, so here's the Reader's Digest condensed version:
All in all, we saw two tornadoes... One near Boswell, OK, and another in Hugo, OK. The one near Boswell was a beauty, and as it posed for us, another area of circulation tried to spin up to its west. It never made it, but it was pretty cool!
The second tornado was extremely low contrast, and we were to the west of town. My photos don't do it justice. In fact, from our vantage point I wasn't even sure that it had actually touched down... until the reports started coming in about the damage that it had done in Hugo. We continued to follow it, and our route took us through the town, where we saw the damage ourselves.
Last I heard, though, there were no injuries involved in either of our tornadoes, which was great to hear! There *was* a wreck in the Boswell area, though --- a chaser car and a local --- but we hear there were only sore muscles (other than pretty significant damage to the two vehicles).
All along the way, we saw some pretty significant hail, too! We measured up to 3.25" hail ourselves, and we saw some that were clearly larger than that. We estimate that a few stones were at least 4.00" and perhaps even larger!
So now our "virgin chasers" have now been fully indoctrinated into storm chasing! Congratulations, Theresa and Justin, and THANK YOU, Charles, for putting us on such great storms yesterday!
