Monday, May 2, 2016 @ 0910 CDT: Yesterday we left Norman, OK, quite early, trying to bust far enough south to get into position for a marginal chase day in what we thought would be in the vicinity of San Antonio. That's a long drive, but it was the only thing we could chase and possibly reach, so we went for it. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to play a mean trick on us, and the dry, northerly air won out over the warm, moist southerly flow... so we ended up aborting the chase and headed to San Antonio for the night (and tonight as well, as it turns out). There's really nothing to chase for a few days until the atmosphere recovers from that last system that barreled through last week, so we will probably shift to the "Large and Bizarre" tour for a time.

Oh, and I have caught up on my photos for the moment, so here are SATURDAY's (https://kingkey.smugmug.com/TornadoChase/Chase-2016/2016Apr30/) and SUNDAY's (https://kingkey.smugmug.com/TornadoChase/Chase-2016/2016May01/) shots for you.

One great note was that after we got checked into the hotel (our SECOND hotel... and the photos will show you why *lol*), Michelle and Cliff drove down from Austin to see us! It was great getting to see them!

Anyway, now it's about time for us to go grab a late breakfast and then head downtown. A few in the group have never been to the Alamo, so this will give them the opportunity to get there. After that, we shall see what kind of trouble we can get into!
