Tour 1 is in the history books, and Tour 2 begins today. After 4,594 miles and some good times (and lots of good food *lol* ), Tour 1 saw a tornado (or two!) and lots of beautiful storms. I wish them all well on their travels home and hope to see them again next year under the meso!

Daniel got a couple of group shots for Tour 1 as well. Here's the "serious" shot... and the "less serious" one.

George sent Tour 1 off and welcomed Tour 2 somewhat appropriately... See yesterday's pictures for more on that!

So today we will be going back to Texas... pretty much back to where we were before we left there yesterday. Today doesn't look terribly promising, but it will help us to position ourselves for tomorrow, which would seem to be a pretty good setup.

1:35 pm CDT

When we finally got out of Norman, we were planning on heading to Texas... but a quick view on radar showed a cell of interest heading towards Kingfisher, OK. As a result, we're detouring to check it out.

11:40 pm CDT

Our little "detour" earlier today really panned out! We followed it from Kingfisher, OK to southeast of Shawnee, OK, and it generated huge hail and had wonderful structure! No tornado, but it turned out to be a nice surprise chase for us. It did delay our drive to Texas, though, so we ended the day in Wichita Falls, TX and we'll have to get a somewhat earlier start tomorrow.
