Thursday, May 8, 2014 @ 0830 CDT: Wow!!! We got into some awesome stuff yesterday! There was absolutely FANTASTIC structure and ENORMOUS hail (which took out both windshields and a side window in the lead van)! It's gonna be hard to top this unless there's a tornado involved... which, of course, I hope happens TODAY!

Unfortunately, the highest probability for tornadoes will apparently be in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota... and given our condition (battered vans with cracked windshields and/or busted out windows) and location (Norman, OK), there's just no way for us to be there. (Anybody out there got a spare teleporter that Star Trek isn't using at the moment?) Charles and crew will likely solidify the temporary repairs and we will probably head for somewhere a bit closer.

Details to come, later, after I find out more.

For now, though, here are some pictures from yesterday. And here's yesterday's travel map:

Thursday, May 8, 2014 @ 1245 CDT: Temporary repairs have been completed on the lead van, and now we're headed out of Norman, OK. It looks like we will stay in the northern Oklahoma/southern Kansas area for today's chase. Even so, we will still be in a 5% probability area, so keep your fingers crossed!

Thursday, May 8, 2014 @ 1625 CDT: We're moving a bit farther north now... and will head into southern Kansas.
