Wow, time is really starting to sneak up on the next tornado chase season! By my count, it's down to 108 days until it starts! Wooooohooooo!!! I can hardly wait!
Things seem to be pretty much set as far as this web site is concerned, although I'm sure some problems will arise when I'm on the road in the middle of nowhere, instead of at home with the DSL and WiFi. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain the site with pictures and descriptions along the way, even when I have to resort to dial-up access to the Internet. We shall see...
I am also getting REALLY close to purchasing a dSLR... I'm deeply in lust with the Nikon D300, specifically paired with their 18-200mm lens. The good side with that lens is that it would afford me a nice zoom range without having to constantly change lenses and potentially introduce dust and dirt into the camera. The down side, though, is that it's got a smaller maximum aperture than I would prefer (f3.5). I keep waffling between buying the camera and waiting to see if the prices will drop, given the present situation with the economy, but I can feel my self-control weakening more and more as the days pass. In the meantime, the trusty Kodak point-and-shoot (Z812) keeps doing the job very nicely, as one can tell from my latest sunset shots. Regardless of what happens, I'll try to get the best shots on the chase that I can!
