To follow up on what ended up happening yesterday, we got cored (meaning that we headed into the central, most-hail-producing portion of the storm) southeast of Jerseyville, IL. It was mostly nickel and dime size hail, but it was really solid stuff. Afterwards, we tried to keep up with the cell, but between road construction and the fast-moving cells (always greater than 30 knots forward speed), we just couldn't keep up. All in all, though, it was a better day than I thought we would have! Some pictures from the day are available HERE.
So now we're in Greenville, IL, and today I will not presuppose that we will avoid heading to the next most likely area of activity. (...but again, I seriously doubt it! Hahahaha!)
Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, here's yesterday's travel map:
10:15 am CDT
Looks like I left out one possibility, which is the one that we're going for... We're gonna move farther east, headed for Indiana, for the possibility of a decent chase there tomorrow! Go figure... *lol*One thing for sure: We're gonna have a L-O-N-G drive back to the Plains for later this week...

Just a travel day today, relocating to Indianapolis, IN for (hopefully) something good tomorrow. We got settled into the hotel and then headed to downtown Indianapolis and the Ram Restaurant & Brewery... to celebrate Nathan's 30th birthday! Good food, excellent beer and even better company. What else can you ask for? (Okay, okay... TORNADOES... but that will have to wait for Mother Nature.)
I've uploaded some of the better pictures HERE.
