Tuesday, May 17, 2016 @ 0900 CDT: THREE TORNADOES!!! Yep, we got to see THREE tornadoes yesterday! Needless to say, we had a very VERY good day chasing in and around the upper panhandle of Texas! None of the tornadoes were photogenic, mind you, but hey, they still count! I have uploaded quite a few pictures from yesterday's chase HERE (https://kingkey.smugmug.com/TornadoChase/Chase-2016/2016May16/), and for several of them, I have purposely overenhanced the contrast so that you can more readily see the tornadoes. And with the first one, ABCNews contacted me and asked if they could use it with attribution, and I agreed, so perhaps some of you got to see it on TV at some point. If so, please let me know, okay?

Anyway, after that great show yesterday, today looks much more troublesome. The SPC has established it as an ENHANCED RISK day, but in order for us to chase it, we'd essentially need to go all the way to the Mexico-US border, and from Amarillo, that's simply too far for us to reach. The setup really doesn't look all that good, either, so my guess is that we will skip it. I won't know what the actual plan is for a while, though, and as always I will fill you all in whenever I find out!
