Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 0830 CDT: My apologies for the relative lack of updates yesterday. I was in a position in the van where AC power simply wasn't realistic, so I had to make it through the L-O-N-G chase day with a single laptop charge.
...but what a chase day it was!
As we were making our way towards Lubbock, we saw a cell of interest to our southeast, somewhere near Big Spring, Texas... so we decided to go check it out/ Guess what? We bagged our first tornado! Wooohoooo!!!
I will upload several of the photos a bit later, but for now, we need to hit the road and try to position ourselves for yet another potentially great chase day!
More later... as I get the opportunity...
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 0930 CDT: Here's today's forecast from the SPC:
...and here's yesterday's travel map:
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 0955 CDT: We have left Childress, TX now and are headed for the general vicinity of west of Clinton, OK... along I-40.
Oh, and as promised, here are several photos of yesterday's tornado. I have purposely over-enhanced them so you can more readily see the tornado.
For all of yesterday's shots, go HERE.
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 @ 1140 CDT: The SPC has updated their tornado forecast for today. Looks like we will be moving farther north!
