9:00 am CDT
A delicious dinner last night at the Big Texan, complete with 18-oz. ribeye, salad, fried okra and strawberry shortcake (Oh, and three of the enormous 32-oz. beers... *lol* ). Many of the other chaser groups congregated there as well, so we were able to catch up on stories and friendships. All in all, a good night was had by all. (And why did the bar call "Last call!" so early? Hahahahah!!!)
Anyway, in a little while we will get together for a late breakfast and then hit the road. Destined for where, you ask? Well, I don't really know, but the last I heard, we were going to head south, and possibly a bit west. Only time will tell!
Pictures from yesterday are available now, too. See them HERE.
And here's yesterday's travel map:
11:00 am CDT
Following a breakfast buffet --- once again at the Big Texan --- we have hit the road again. While we do not have a hard target yet, we are headed south. Let's hope that it's a great chase day!
1:00 pm CDT
Tornado Watch #171 has been issued, and we're headed into the meat of it, presently targeting the Kermit, TX vicinity...
11:30 pm CDT
Yet another great chase day! No, we didn't see any tornadoes, but we got to see some excellent storm structure. You'll see what I mean when you look at today's pictures!
I plan to put together a few panoramas of the day's scenes as well, but that will be in the coming days.
Later, we headed into Abilene, TX, and straight to one of our favorite places that we stumbled upon a couple of years ago: The China Star restaurant. I'll tell ya, if you're ever in Abilene, you MUST go to the China Star! Some of the best Chinese food ever prepared, and it's unbelievably inexpensive!
