Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 0810 CDT: Looking at today's forecast by the SPC, the highest probability of tornadoes today is NOT where we're going to be. It's more likely that we will experience hail and strong winds in eastern New Mexico or western Texas, although a tornado or two *could* happen. Our position is important, though, because that will serve us well for tomorrow, too, when we will probably need to drift a bit east, into west-central Texas and possibly up into the panhandle.
Anyway, the bottom line is that we will get to really start this chase today, and hopefully we will see some awesome storms!
Oh, and before I forget it, here is yesterday's chase map:
Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 1050 CDT: We're leaving Amarillo now, heading south and then west... probably into western New Mexico.
Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 1120 CDT: The SPC has updated their tornado outlook, and guess where the 2% probability is now? Wooohoooo!
Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 1130 CDT: ...and now the 1630z update has come out, and it's looking even better for us!
