Terafab is a joint SpaceX, Testla and Xai semiconductor fabrication factory 

All of these companies owned by Elon Musk are heavily dependent on semiconductor chips.

So two new massive factories in the USA is being built now with a partnership with Intel.

the first of which is being built in Austin on Tesla property will be for fast integrated R and D fabrication and testing.

The second will be a truly massive Semiconductor manufacturing fabrication producing chips for SpaceX orbital data space stations "SpaceX Orbital Data Center System". Also for SpaceX's Starlink LEO space based internet and Starshield LEO military constellations.

Combines chip design, fabrication, memory production and advanced packaging.

Terafab is located at Grimes County, Texas. Northwest of Houston, near the former Gibbons Creek Reservoir

The fab will be 4 miles by 0,5 miles in size. Fully built-out, the facility is expected to cover up to 10,000,000 square metres (110,000,000 square feet), which would make it one of the largest factories in the world.

SpaceXai stared clearing the site in July 2026

The first phase is projected to cost $16.8 billion.  Out of a total of 10 phases.
