President Donald Trump is looking to vastly accelerate the US Mars program most likely using Elon Musk and SpaceX Interplanetary Transport System (ITS) to send astronauts to Mars within the next 8 years, revealed during a live link to the International Space Station to congratulate Astronaut Peggy Whitson who has broke the US record for most time spent in space on 22 April 2017 after reaching her 534th day in space.

The implications of Trump's statements to "Speed that up" will possibly also include funding from the large increase for the US military budget.
