SpaceX makes late call to delay ASIASAT-6 launch

26 Aug 2014 Elon Musk initiated the delay shortly after the rocket had been erected at her Space Launch Complex -40

It looks like the next attempt will not be until next week the earliest.

There had been a helium valve problem earlier but that it had been successfully changed out.

Most likely it will wait until the full review the F-9R Dev-1 test rocket that failed during her “hop” at SpaceX’s test facility in McGregor, Texas, for any potential commonality between the hardware on the Falcon 9 v1.1.

Any problem that occurred with the F-9R Dev-1 would not have resulted in the failure for any similar issue with the Falcon 9 v1.1 tasked with the launch of ASIASAT-6 as its launch pad has hold down posts to stop the rocket from lifting off in an off-nominal condition.
