There are three general types of asteroids in our Solar System, C-type(carbonaceous) are rich in water, X-type are composed primarily of metal and are rich in precious metals that offer the most value and will affect growth of the space economy and S-type(silaceous) rocky asteroids are a mixture of rock and metal mixed together.
