Long March 6
On September 19th 2015 China successfully launched it first Long March 6(Chang Zheng-6) rocket from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
The Long March 6 is a three stage rocket designed for smaller payloads.
The first stage uses a single 120t-thrust YF-100 engine powered by liquid oxygen and kerosene (LOX/Kerosene) propellant.
Lift Off at 23:01:14.331 UTC on Saturday.
The YF-100 engine has a ground thrust of 1,177 kN and specific impulse of 2.9 km/s.
First stage burn time is 155 seconds.
The second stage uses a YF-115 developing 147.1 kN (sea level) or 176.5 kN (vacuum), with a vacuum specific impulse of 3.35 km/s. The second stage uses four 25 N thrusters for roll control.
The third stage consists of four engines developing a total of 16kN (4 kN each) and also has eight 100 N thrusters for attitude control. The engines are powered by a mixture of kerosene and hydrogen peroxide.
