1st Sept 2016 saw the Explosion during a hot fire test of a Falcon 9 that caused significant damage to the Pad

SLC-40 is preparing for a return to operations in August 2017 (Returned to operation Dec 2017 see Report)

The first launch from what was then LC-40 was the maiden flight of the Titan IIIC (June 18, 1965)

The tower was disassembled during late 2007 and early 2008.

On April 25, 2007, the US Air Force leased the complex to SpaceX.
