Exploration Zones

Mars Exploration Zones

Future human missions to Mars will present a new challenge for selecting landing sites. The pioneering colonist need to be as close to the equator as posible, where it’s warmer and also easier for rockets to depart the planet. But they’ll also need to be near potentially resource-rich ice deposits, which exist in colder regions near the poles.

A number of conditions need to be met for an exploration zone to be considered, Water needs to be accessible, located near the surface, and of sufficient size and concentration to meet the initial human needs.
