JAXA Flagship launch vehicle

Now also know as the H3

After heavy cash reductions with another 20% since last year 2013, JAXA has now started it's "reform plan" 2014 main goal is New"flagship launch vehicle" maiden launch by 2020 using a new "sophisticated high-performance liquid hydrogen rocket engine".

The main goal is to have a "high competitiveness" developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) as the prime contractor.

    • Up to six solid rocket boosters can be attached for Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO)

LE-9 rocket engine

The first stage is to be powered by two or the H3-30S vesion has three of the new LE-9 liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen engines.
