Firefly Aerospace is an American private aerospace firm based in Austin, Texas, that develops launch vehicles for commercial launches to orbit.

Original start up in 2014 by Tom Markusic, P.J. King and Michael Blum but went bust in 2016.

Re-Founded in March 2017 with fresh funding from a Ukrainian now UK billionaire Dr Max Polyakov.

On 4th Feb 2021 Firefly's 'Blue Ghost lunar lander' won a NASA award to fly on a SpaceX Falcon 9 to the Moon in in 2023 as part of the Artemis program.

Firefly launched their first rocket test flight on 3 September 2021. The vehicle experienced an anomaly during ascent, and the Range terminated the flight using the explosive Flight Termination System (FTS).
