The Great Spirit

The Great Spirit is the planetary spirit of Navayu. Feeding off of the energy of Navayu, The Great Spirit acted as a protector of the planet and its people for millennia; doing things like single-handedly defeating the Haxamanian Army at the Battle of Grand River and returning lost children to their parents. However, all of that changed when Amarok, a man-eating wolf-like spirit was banished to Navayu's Arctic from Aurea. Amarok began stealing the planet's energy from The Great Spirit, weakening her quite a bit. The two fought often, as Amarok had a nasty habit of abducting children and eating them alive. Since they were both feeding off of the same life force, none could ever destroy the other. However, that all changed when the evil Tate arrived on the planet with his family. The sheer volume of evil magic he emanated forced The Great Spirit into a deep sleep, allowing Amarok to feed off of The Great Spirit's share of the planet's energy as well as his own. This doubled Amarok's power and allowed him to attack children unopposed. Only decades later, when Amarok was defeated by Chief Ross, would The Great Spirit be reawakened. Once reawakened, it helped Weasel and his friends reach Tate's Castle, and helped repair some of the damage Tate's reign had inflicted on the planet. Since Amarok was defeated, The Great Spirit's powers were doubled, allowing her to create a new era of peace for Navayu.

Generally, The Great Spirit manifests itself as a colossal wolf-shaped apparition in the northern lights.
