Book 09 Plot

It has been a year since the events on Ryu 108. Weasel and his friends have just landed back on Aurea, and are making preparations for war. Taftenkhamun has gotten to work with engineers from the highly advanced planet of Ishgabangaloodoo to build spaceships and other war machines, while Ryan and others have started a program to forge weapons. Meanwhile, Weasel has set out in the newly revamped Pa-Ankh to find planets who are willing to ally with Aurea against Tate. The new Pa-Ankh, being able to cross the galaxy in days now rather than months, takes Weasel to Planet Squid in less than two hours. Upon landing, Weasel finds that Reshon, who Weasel and his friends had helped free from Jermie’s control in the past, has replaced Tristan as the planet’s Witch Doctor. Reshon says that Planet Squid will fight with Aurea against Tate to the end and will start preparing an army. Weasel then returns to his home planet of Arturia and speaks to its leader, King Arturius. King Arturius says that all his Knights of the Square Table are ready to march to war against Tate and will defend both Arturia and Aurea to the last man. Weasel then goes to Ishgabangaloodoo and speaks to his longtime friend Michael, the planet’s Prime Minister. Michael says that he is already working with Taftenkhamun on updating Aurea’s medieval military to their top-notch technological standards and is preparing their defenses against Tate’s onslaught. He says that he is preparing a large group of Turdae, specially-built travel devices that are larger on the inside than the outside and can travel to any point in time and space. However, The Norns have warned Michael that too many Turdae cannot exist at one time or they could throw off the fabric of the universe. Weasel then returns to Ryu 108 to consult The Norns for his next move. They say a magic lamp called the Lamp of Luxury that was stolen by Inquisitor Rhys’s armies when he first invaded Aurea all those years ago is now located on the planet of Awal Kabab, and they must stop that artifact from falling into Tate’s possession because it can do untold evils if corrupted with Shadow Magic. Weasel then returns to Aurea and tells his friends what happened. They say he should go to Inquisitor Rhys’s former campsite in the outskirts of Astrás and look for clues. Weasel goes underground into Rhys’s old bunker and finds in Rhys’s old journal that he needed money for a siege train to attack Astrás, so he stole the Lamp of Luxury from a museum and sold it on the black market to a secret society called The Cabal on Awal Kabab to fund his attempted conquest of Aurea. As Weasel is about to leave the room, he is greeted with a familiar face: King Seaoderic of the Wicarian Tribe he met in the Wyclades years ago. Seaoderic says that The Cabal has agents everywhere, even Aurea, and tries to assassinate Weasel before he can escape with the information from Rhys’s Journal. However, Weasel manages to defeat him in a duel and escapes with Rhys’s Journal. Weasel and his friends then board the Pa-Ankh and set off for Awal Kabab. However, when they reach the planet’s atmosphere, they are kept in space by some sort of energy field around the planet and cannot land. Weasel and his friends go to Ryu 108 and ask The Norns if they know what is going on, and they say it involves Ishgabangaloodoo’s technology, so they should ask Michael for answers. When Weasel and his friends arrive on Ishgabangaloodoo, Michael says this must have to do with someone stealing one of his time-manipulating machines and placing it in the Sands of Time, a vast desert on the bottom of the cosmos that connects to the rest of the universe on Awal Kabab. The Sands of Time are the tangible representation of time and history itself, so a disturbance there could upset the balance of the universe. Michael then sends Weasel and his friends into one of his labs to pinpoint what exactly was stolen. Inside the lab, they discover that the lab has been broken into and one of his Turdae is missing. Weasel then brings the bodies of dead Ishga Police officers to Michael, and judging by the nature of the slash marks on the bodies, Michael suspects that this is the work of Ali Baboon, a thief from Awal Kabab renowned across the galaxy. He suggests that they use another TURDIS (singular of Turdae) to bypass the field around Awal Kabab, get to the Sands of Time, and find the stolen TURDIS. Once the TURDIS transports them to the Sands of Time, they aimlessly wander the desert until they hear a voice. The voice tells them that the TURDIS they are looking for has since been moved, but under orders from The Cabal, she cannot allow them to leave. She then comes out of her invisibility and reveals herself as a Genie before battling Weasel and his friends, until she is defeated by Cole. She then swears revenge on Weasel and his friends before they escape in the TURDIS. Once they report back to Michael, he says that going back to Aurea to fetch the Pa-Ankh would be a waste of time, so they should take the TURDIS to Awal Kabab instead. When the TURDIS arrives on Awal Kabab, it ends up in a vacant marketplace at the bottom of a canyon. They are greeted by a cat who introduces himself as Khalid. Khalid tells them that they need to find merchants for the marketplace, called The Souk. He says that the one merchant they have, named Omar, says he is tired and will not work. When Weasel and his friends ask Omar about this, he says he is REtired, not tired and he has stayed here to keep watch over Caravan, which is sacred ground to the Camel Merchants. He says they usually gather here when something unusual happens to Awal Kabab, but they have not shown up yet. He then tells Weasel and his friends to take the West Road to see if there are any Camel Merchants there. After going down the West Road for a little while, they find a Camel named Aadam al-Sham along with someone named Mauris. Aadam tells them that he was trying to make his way to Caravan, but was attacked by a group of undead vultures he referred to as Ghultures that prowled the West Road. Mauris then reveals that he is a Chronomancer, one that works with the Sands of Time, and he can dispel the Ghultures if Weasel and his friends kill some and collect their bones, which they promptly proceed to do. However, Mauris says that whatever spell was used to reanimate the Ghultures is too strong for him to dispel, leading Weasel and his friends to realize that this must be the work of Santa Muerte. Aadam then suggests going up into the trees where the Ghultures reside and infiltrating the nest so they’ll move on elsewhere. When Weasel and his friends get to the nest at the top of a tree, they are faced with the Mother Ghulture, which takes a while for them to defeat. Once the Mother Ghulture is defeated, it flees the nest for somewhere else and brings the flock with it. When they return to Aadam and Mauris, they tell them what happened and they agree to go to Caravan. While Aadam al-Sham sets up shop, Weasel and his friends talk to Khalid, who tells them to search the South Road for more Camel Merchants. On the South Road, they find two Camel Merchants, a husband and wife named Shaamil el-Nour and Rashaa el-Nour. When Weasel and his friends find them, they are arguing because all their goods have been stolen. He says they were taken by a group of creatures called Scaly Tengrils that prowl the canyon. Once Weasel and his friends defeat a few and recover the goods, along with a raid on their hideout to recover a jeweled box. After this, Weasel and his friends return to Caravan to see the el-Nours have already set up shop. They tell Khalid, who tells them to take the North Road to find more merchants. On the North Road, they encounter a Camel Merchant named Quraysh al-Nasser. Quraysh says his adopted brother, a cat named Nazim, wandered into a grove of Prickly Bear Cactus, and the Cacti locked him in. Weasel and his friends are then forced to fight the Prickly Bear Cacti to get the key, which they use to free Nazim. Quraysh and Nazim then thank Weasel and his friends and head back to Caravan. By the time Weasel and his friends get there Quraysh and Nazim have already set up shop and they talk to Khalid, who congratulates them on setting up the market. Khalid then tells them to talk to Omar, who may know a thing or two about the strange events transpiring here. Omar says that the being that called the Camel Merchants to Caravan, referred to as the Old Genie, lives in a tent on the outskirts of Caravan and that Weasel and his friends should go seek him out. When they enter the tent, they find a bald, blue-eyed, slightly tan-skinned, muscular genie, whose name is Mr. Nazif. Mr. Nazif then complains about how they tracked dirt into the tent and that it will take him weeks to clean it up along with the Mud Swirlers that have been sent in to torment him. Weasel and his friends then deal with the Mud Swirlers handily, but Mr. Nazif complains that doing so splattered mud everywhere and tries to kill them out of rage. When he is defeated, he agrees to talk to them. He says Azeeza, the Dark Genie, has returned after centuries of being trapped in a bottle, and that means dark times for all of Awal Kabab. Weasel then tells this to Omar, who says that Azeeza and her master, Overlord Xerxes, once ruled over the Pawsian Empire that once ruled over all of Awal Kabab with an iron fist. However, the Pawsians were overthrown by two conquerors from Olympia named Leonidas and Alexandros. Azeeza and Xerxes are buried in the Zagros Barrows to the east, and Omar tells Weasel and his friends to investigate that area. When Weasel and his friends get to the Zagros Barrows, they find an undead soldier there named Roxana Jamzadeh. She says that Xerxes is indeed back, but she has no desire to fight for him, as she already did back when she was alive. Weasel and his friends sneak her into the Old Barracks to lay her back to rest, but not before she tells them that Xerxes is still in The Necropolis, the place of his burial, and if they want to stop Xerxes before he can do any real harm, there’s an artifact in the Zagros Barrows that can help them. She tells them to read an inscription at the bottom of a statue. When Weasel and his friends go outside and read it aloud, it opens an entrance to a small tomb that is even older than the Pawsian Empire. When they reach the bottom, they find a reanimated skull that introduces himself as Hammurabi. Hammurabi rambles on for a little bit about how he got left down there and then says that he is the secret weapon against Xerxes that they are looking for, but they need to sneak into the Tomb of the Forgotten and steal the Magic Gemstone from Vizier Suleiman for it to work. Upon entering the tomb, Weasel and his friends are attacked by giant bugs called Dune Buggies, which they easily and rapidly kill. Next, they kill a few undead Pawsian soldiers before finally getting to Suleiman, who is eventually defeated at the hands of Maxwell. They then take the Magic Gemstone to Hammurabi, who instructs them to put it in his eye socket. This enables him to levitate and move around, since he has no body or legs to move with. Hammurabi then leads them away from his tomb and through a gate into the Necropolis. They meet a guard named Ghader Shah who tries to stand in their way, but Hammurabi manipulates him into telling them that he will stand aside if he is presented with treasure from Xerxes’s vault. Weasel and his friends then sneak into the vault, deal with some guards, and steal some treasure, which they give to Shah, who agrees to let them pass. After this, they enter the Necropolis, where they deal with a ton of guards, and eventually work their way to Xerxes himself who is having a conversation with Azeeza and Santa Muerte. Weasel and his friends then realize that Azeeza is the same genie that they fought before in the Sands of Time. Santa Muerte then reveals that it is she who brought Xerxes, Azeeza, and the Pawsians back from the dead, but reveals no more before teleporting away with Shadow Magic. Xerxes then attacks Weasel and his friends and is eventually beaten, but he reveals that he was only using a small portion of his power before leaving with Azeeza. Weasel and his friends then return to Caravan, where they tell Omar what transpired in the Zagros Barrows. He says that if Xerxes and Azeeza are indeed back, then their only hope of fighting off the Pawsian Empire is to unite all of Awal Kabab, which has never been done before. Omar suggests they start with the city of al-Sariq. He says that Weasel and his friends need to gain an audience with the King of Thieves. When they enter al-Sariq, they find someone named Zuhair al-Musa. Zuhair then says he is the Prince of Thieves and takes them down an alleyway, telling them it leads to the King of Thieves. However, it turns out that Zuhair was leading them into a trap as he calls out to the other members of his gang to jump them. However, his gang objects to this, saying that they only rob people who conduct business in the Bazaar, not random visitors. Zuhair then says that the King of Thieves not only left the city in lawlessness but literally left the city and is off who-knows-where. He, however, agrees to lead Weasel and his friends to a human female who he says is the King of Thieves’s wife, Maleeha al-Mahmud. Also present in the room is a genie named Naseema. Since the king is gone, Maleeha has taken over leadership of the city, but she says she cannot help them until the crime and scum is cleared out of the city. Maleeha and Naseema explain that gangs of thieves now roam the streets and even the palace unabated, and law-abiding citizens are afraid to leave their homes. They then say that the first step in their plan to restore order to the city is to go get the King’s Vizier, Mundhir el-Abed. When they get to Mundhir’s house, they are forced to fight off a gang of thieves that were trying to rob him and then take him to Maleeha for an audience. Once Mundhir is brought in, Maleeha says that her plan is to steal from the different gangs, and then blame opposing gangs for the items’ disappearances. This will cause the gangs to go to war with each other, allowing Maleeha to negotiate a truce requiring the gangs to stay out of the city’s Bazaar. For the first step of the plan, Maleeha sends Weasel and his friends on their first mission: steal the Armband of Zaimeer from the Ferals Gang and make it look like the Akhtars did it. She also sends Naseema with them to help them on this quest. Meanwhile, Hammurabi stays behind to tell Maleeha and Mundhir about Xerxes and the Pawsians. Weasel and his friends then sneak into a warehouse in the River District, where they dispatch some guards and steal the headband, while Naseema plants fake evidence at the scene with genie magic. Their next job is to steal back the Mask of Ejmir from the Akhtars. However, Maleeha says that the leader of the Akhtars is Ali Baboon, causing Weasel to explain the situation with the TURDIS. Maleeha says that since she is not a Chronomancer, that is far outside her area of expertise. When Weasel and his friends sneak into the Akhtars’ Warehouse, they find Tate himself in there, standing next to the TURDIS while talking to Ali Baboon and some of his goons. Not wishing to be seen, Weasel and his friends hide behind some crates, but are too far away to hear what is going on. However, they can still see Tate climb into the TURDIS and watch it disappear into thin air less than a minute afterwards. Once Ali Baboon and his goons leave the room, Weasel and his friends take the Mask of Ejmir while Naseema uses genie magic to plant evidence that the Afeefs were behind this. Maleeha then sends Weasel and his friends after the Afeefs, the last gang. She tells them to steal the Tablet of Han’il, a Pawsian artifact that belongs in a museum. Once Weasel and his friends repeat the same procedure as the last two times, they return to Maleeha, who has them check on the situation in the streets. After Achmed, the leader of the Ferals, gets beaten up by a group of Afeefs, he agrees to follow the truce. However, when they return indoors, they discover that someone sent the Silent Sabers, a group of assassins, against Maleeha. However, Weasel and his friends manage to deal with the Silent Sabers and save Maleeha before she can be assassinated. However, she suggests going to the hideout of the Silent Sabers to defeat them and find out who told them to attempt her assassination. When Weasel and his friends arrive at the hideout, they are initially attacked by the Silent Sabers, but once they are defeated, they say they recognize that Weasel and Morgan are students of King Arturius by their fighting style, and they reveal that their leader, Safwa el-Zia, used to be a Knight of the Square Table. Safwa then says that any friend of King Arturius is a friend of theirs, and reveals that it was actually Mundhir el-Abed who placed the bounty on Maleeha. Weasel and his friends then thank the Silent Sabers and warn Maleeha of Mundhir’s betrayal. Shocked, Maleeha, Weasel, his friends, and Naseema gang up on Mundhir and Mundhir is killed by Garett, who finds a to-do list in Mundhir’s pocket, indicating that Mundhir was a spy working for Ali Baboon. Weasel and his friends then go into Ali Baboon’s hideout, deal with the guards and talk with Ali Baboon, who they coerce to go to the truce talks uncannily easily. Maleeha says the only gang left, the Afeefs, resides in the Palace itself and will be hard to convince. Weasel and his friends enter the palace and ask the leader of the Afeefs, Dhaki- al-Pour, who also agrees to go. With that, the truce talks are held at the Bazaar a few hours later. The leaders of all the gangs agree to the terms, except Dhaki- al-Pour, who only does so after he is nearly killed by Shelby and Kira. With peace returned to the city of al-Sariq, Maleeha sends Weasel and his friends back to Caravan to tell Omar of the news. Omar says that this is indeed progress, but they need the allegiance of the House Qhats out in Qhatar. He also says that Naseema has already been sent in to negotiate with the Qhats. When Weasel and his friends arrive in Qhatar, Naseema says that the heir of House Khalico died without an heir, so now House Khalico and House Pawsian (the group that revived Xerxes) are battling over who gets the throne. They speak to Khalico General Shaafia el-Aman, who says that before they can get into Khalico Manor, they must kill some Pawsian guards to prove they are not Pawsian spies. Once the Pawsians are defeated, they are admitted to the Khalico Manor, where they find Count Abdul, who has a claim to the Khalico Throne, and Fareed, his genie. However, Count Abdul refuses to help Weasel and his friends’ cause and kicks them out. Naseema then comes up with a plan to get Count Abdul’s claim approved by the Reverend Mother Khadeeja. Khadeeja refuses to approve Abdul’s claim since he has no genetic relationship to the Khalicos, but says that Ramalaan el-Ibrahim, who is out in the Eastern Dunes facing his trials, is. Weasel and his friends then help Ramalaan with his trials, which involves ridding the desert of its worm problem. After killing some of the smaller giant worms, Weasel, his friends, and Ramalaan are forced to kill one the size of a school bus. Eventually, it is killed by Macye, Erin, Olivia, and Felipe’s combined power. Once this is done, Weasel, his friends, Naseema, and Ramalaan return to Khalico Manor for the throne. Abdul then expresses his anger with Weasel and his friends for betraying him, and then insists that they prove Ramalaan’s right to the Khalico Throne with the Chronoshard. However, the Chronoshard is held by House Pawsian, which is in open rebellion against House Khalico. Weasel and his friends then break into Pawsian Manor and defeat King Dariush, who agrees to talk to them outside. Dariush admits it was a mistake to allow Santa Muerte to resurrect Xerxes, but the Chronoshard, having not been needed for centuries, was buried in the Hanging Gardens of Qhittenlon, where a group of Xerxes’s undead Pawsians are looking for artifacts. With that, Weasel and his friends break into the Hanging Gardens of Qhittenlon, where they deal with a few Pawsian guards and a general. However, they soon find that the Chronoshard is guarded by Ephialtes, a general from Olympia who betrayed to the Pawsian side and became Xerxes’s top general millennia ago. Once Ephialtes is dealt with by Garett, Cole, and Maxwell, they place the Chronoshard in House Khalico. Mother Khadeeja says they need to go to the Chronoverge out in the Mudland Wastes to find a Chronomancer to conduct the ceremony. They eventually find one and bring him back, and he confirms that Ramalaan’s claim is stronger. When Abdul refuses to step down, he is quickly defeated by Weasel and his friends, and he is forced to stand trial by Ramalaan. Khadeeja then has Ramalaan exile Abdul, banishing him from Qhatar forever. However, Fareed suspects that Khadeeja and the Binny Jezzerits have too much power over Ramalaan, and he sends Weasel and his friends into their hideout to investigate. However, Khadeeja had warned the Binny Jezzerits of Weasel’s arrival. After Khadeeja tries to kill Weasel and his friends, she is defeated by Ryan and Morgan. Khadeeja then apologizes for trying to rule House Khalico through Ramalaan, and relinquishes her magical control over him. Ramalaan then agrees to join the alliance with al-Sariq and Caravan, and then tells Weasel to tell Omar that he and his friends have united Awal Kabab. When Weasel and his friends report back to Omar, he says that Xerxes and his army have arrived outside al-Sariq and are preparing to attack the city. Weasel and his friends then warn the citizens of Caravan and Qhatar that Xerxes’s army is attacking al-Sariq, and Weasel and his army meet Xerxes and his army on the outskirts of al-Sariq. When Weasel and his friends confront Xerxes, he tells his army and everyone else to stay out of it while him and Weasel duel to decide the fate of Awal Kabab. Once Xerxes is defeated by Weasel, Tate shows up at the scene and scolds Xerxes for being such a moron, and that he expected better of his servant. He then explains that either way, Xerxes’s reawakening was simply a distraction for Tate to plant members of The Cabal as members of the Chronoverge. He has also ordered his other minion, Ali Baboon, to take Naseema captive so he can force her to tell her the location of the Lamp of Luxury. He will then move the stolen TURDIS and the Lamp of Luxury to the Sands of Time, where he will instruct the all-powerful genie who resides in the Lamp of Luxury to tap into the power of the TURDIS and turn back the Sands of Time, reverting the galaxy to a state where he can use the Song of Shadow to rewrite it. He then orders the rest of Xerxes’s Army to come with him, and then leaves. Maleeha then comes out of the palace of al-Sariq and says that the lamp housing Naseema has been stolen by Ali Baboon and his 40 thieves. Weasel and his friends then rush into Ali Baboon’s hideout and find it abandoned, except for a lone prisoner tied up and gagged. They then free the prisoner, who says that Ali Baboon and his 40 thieves are escaping the city on a magic carpet they stole from Caravan while Weasel and his friends were in Qhatar. Panicked, Weasel and his friends race back to Caravan and ask the merchants they helped when they first arrived if they sell magic carpets. They then realize that Aadam al-Sham sells them, and they buy one from him and then eventually catch up to Ali Baboon and his 40 thieves. When they land, they find themselves in a very shady open-air market called the Black Market, filled with criminals and space pirates from all across the galaxy. They then see Ali Baboon entering a shady-looking tent that Weasel and his friends immediately follow him into. However, Taftenkhamun sees someone he immediately recognizes: Lord Etbo, the only other Eaglyptian left in existence. Taftenkhamun has to be restrained by Weasel and his friends to keep him from blowing their cover, when they see Ali Baboon purchasing a large, glowing lamp in exchange for a gigantic pile of riches before handing the lamp to Lord Etbo. Weasel and his friends figure it’s now or never and ambush Ali Baboon and Lord Etbo. They prove to be no match for the combined might of Weasel and his friends, and only escape when Ali Baboon’s 40 thieves arrive on the scene and tie up Weasel and his friends, taking them into the dungeons of Ali Baboon’s nearby fortress. Meanwhile in Caravan, Omar hears of their capture from a spy of his that was sent to the Black Market to keep an eye on them. Omar then hatches a plan to free them. He tells the spy from earlier to go to Ali Baboon’s fortress and offer the lamp containing Mr. Nazif as a gift to Ali Baboon before leaving. Omar had also stowed away inside Mr. Nazif’s lamp. Ali then accepts the gift and sends the spy on his way. When Ali opens the lamp, Ali becomes Mr. Nazif’s new master and tells him to go clean the dungeons, where he finds Weasel and his friends. Once night fell, he left Mr. Nazif’s lamp and snuck into the Main Hall while Ali Baboon and his thieves were sleeping and freed Weasel and his friends from their bondage. However, before Weasel and his friends could get their weapons back from a nearby cell, they accidentally woke up some Gorillian Guards, who alerted Ali Baboon of the danger. Ali Baboon decided to have them all executed the next morning. The next morning, Weasel and his friends were taken by magic carpet to the center of the Mudland Wastes, where they would be pushed off the carpet and fed to a monster known as the Nabbat. The Nabbat is a monster that lives in a pit directly under the magic carpet, and its mouth encompasses the entire rim of the pit. As Omar is pushed into the pit, Mr. Nazif’s lamp regurgitates Omar’s scimitar, which Omar catches in midair before landing back on the magic carpet. He then starts attacking the Ali’s minions and gives their weapons to Weasel and his friends, who hack their way to Ali Baboon. While Weasel’s friends deal with Ali’s 40 thieves, Weasel and Ali duel, resulting in seriously injuring Ali. With his supposedly dying breath, Ali says that Tate now has both the stolen TURDIS and the Lamp of Luxury, and time will soon start to rewind itself. Once Ali is presumed dead (though, unknown to anyone else, he was faking his own death), Weasel and his friends return to Ali Baboon’s fortress and take back Naseema’s Lamp. They then go inside the lamp and find Naseema, who says her and the other genies have all ganged up on and defeated Azeeza in the Genie Realm. However, they must find a way to break into the Chronoverge to stop Tate’s plans. They then get their old weapons back from Ali Baboon’s basement, and return to the Black Market, where they get on their magic carpet and fly to the Chronoverge. As they get closer, they notice the sun start to set, indicating that time is starting to turn back. When they land, Hammurabi manipulates a door guard into letting them pass, and they enter the Chronoverge to find it surprisingly unguarded. They easily slaughter the Chronomancers that have fallen under the sway of The Cabal and cross through a portal into the Sands of Time. Here, Tate says that the genie from the Lamp of Luxury is already performing his work, and the galaxy as they know it is finished. He then summons familiar enemies out of the Sands of Time to battle Weasel and his friends: Jermie, The Horn of Huitzilopochtli, and Seth of the Park. Weasel and his friends struggle with these enemies, until they realize that they can only be killed exactly the way they were killed before when Erin decapitates the Horn of Huitzilopochtli. After these 3 enemies are dealt with, Tate pulls out his sword and attacks Weasel and his friends himself. He is eventually rendered too exhausted to fight by a combination force from everyone present. However, Tate then reveals that he did not expect his plan on Awal Kabab to work, and that it was all just meant to be a distraction to take control of Aurea. He says that while Weasel’s armies were all off fighting Tate’s armies on other planets, Tate sent Xerxes’s leftover army to attack the undefended Aurea and take control of the government. He says they are ready to crown him the new king, and the Aurean Military, now completely loyal to Tate due to the 2nd wish made on the genie from the Lamp of Luxury, has landed on the planet and is going to attack them as soon as they escape the Chronoverge. Once Tate teleports to Aurea to be crowned king, Weasel cries out in disbelief before his friends calm him down by stopping the genie from the Lamp of Luxury from reversing time, resetting time back to normal. The genie is then forced to return to the Lamp of Luxury, which Weasel smashes with the Sword of Caliber, killing the genie and absorbing the genie’s powers into the sword. When Weasel and his friends reenter the Chronoverge, they are immediately ambushed by their former soldiers, now loyal to Tate. Hammurabi then leads Weasel and his friends out through a secret door on the right, but Garett, Olivia, Drew and Felipe were forced to stay behind and cover the retreat, killing them all in the process. Hammurabi says he will go back to his tomb, and floats off to the Zagros Barrows. Naseema says she will return to Maleeha and goes back to al-Sariq, taking her lamp with her. They then hurry to Caravan, where they drop off Omar and Mr. Nazif, before escaping in the TURDIS they brought to the planet. Once the TURDIS appears in deep space, Weasel says that he will have to go into exile since most of the galaxy is not safe for him anymore. He will be taking his sword with him to prevent an object of that power from falling into Tate’s hands. He tells his friends to resist Tate any way they can, and to never give up. He says that if need be, they must simply type Weasel's name into the keyboard of the TURDIS and the Sword of Caliber will glow red from the last wish on the genie (whose powers are now imbued in the sword), which would alert Weasel to their need. He then leaves in an escape pod to who knows where.
