Akhet-Ra

70 years before the beginning of Book 1, Nefertari, the wife of the current Eaglyptian Pharaoh (Akhetaten) gave birth to a baby boy named Akhet-Ra. Once Akhet-Ra was 17 and Akhenaten passed away from a stroke, Akhet-Ra became Pharaoh in his own right. He was one of the best rulers Eaglypt ever had, presiding over a bountiful harvest, defeating an invading army of Pawsians, and opening the country to new trade deals with Ishgabangaloodoo, abolishing slavery in the process. However, a group of Kroks, the former slaveholders, were not happy with this decision. In response, they alerted Tate of the fact that there was a Shadow Artifact, the Eye of Horus, in the possession of Eaglypt's royal crown. Eager to get his hands on this new crown, Tate landed on the planet with a small army and demanded that Akhet-Ra hand over the Eye. When Akhet-Ra refused and secretly hid the Eye away in the Duat (the Eaglyptian Spirit Realm), Tate ordered a search of the entire planet. When Tate could not find the Eye, he ordered the head of the Krok Insurrection, Lord Etbo, to use Shadow Magic to wipe out the Eaglyptians for their insolence. The next day, Etbo summoned a terrible sandstorm that permanently choked the planet's life-giving Oasis with sand. Crops soon failed planetwide, and people started dying by the millions. Akhet-Ra ordered the construction of a giant tomb called The Pyramid to house those killed by the famine. To ensure the survival of the Eaglyptian people, Akhet-Ra sent his only son, Taftenkhamun, off-planet while Eaglypt starved into an uninhabited wasteland. After another year, Eaglypt was completely uninhabited, with Akhet-Ra having died with the rest of the population. Lord Etbo and Taftenkhamun were the only survivors.
