Battle of Loch Nimue

Prelude

After Tate took control of the galaxy after the Battle of Awal Kabab, Weasel has been living in exile on the Planet of Arturia, deemed a wanted man by the Tatian Government. He rules the planet as co-king with King Arturius. They reside in Castle Arturia, a heavily-fortified fortress adjacent to both Arturia's capital city of Caerbannog and the wild Cowlands. They are the leaders of the Knights of the Square Table, a group of 15 knights that are in charge of around 20,000 lower-level knights around the planet. The newest knight, Sir Michael Jones, had been under royal scrutiny in the past for importing drugs to the planet from Tate's warlords. However, he was allowed into the Knights of the Square Table after he destroyed a Tatian ship attempting to perform reconnaissance on Arturia and he stayed off of drugs for 10 years. However, Sir Michael Jones was still very much loyal to Tate, secretly assembling an army of Froudlings (several goblin-like peoples from the Eirewood who were traditional enemies of King Arturius's family) in the dark depths of the Eirewood region in the northwest. During this time, he had also found the Horned Crown, a Shadow Artifact lost for millennia that could transform whoever wore it into a deadly dragon. He had also spent this time secretly communicating with Tate, telling him of his progress. Once Sir Michael Jones felt he had enough troops, he told Tate that Weasel was on Arturia. Since Michael Jones had made his army sound larger than it really was, Tate decided that it would be better if the lion's share of his military was on the northeastern frontier fighting the Aurean Alliance; and only traveled to Arturia with two legions of troops to oversee Sir Michael Jones's army, which in reality only numbered around 27,000. Word soon arrived in Castle Arturia that Tate had landed a tiny force in the Eirewood. Since Sir Michael Jones's Army was very well-hidden, the Arturians did not know of its existence. Weasel and King Arturius ordered Arturia's 20,000-man standing army of knights to go into the Eirewood and defeat Tate's army. However, that idea ended in disaster when they were ambushed by Sir Michael Jones's Army (although Jones himself was absent at the time) and forced to turn back after losing 7,000 men. Upon hearing of this, Weasel and Arturius began conscripting civilians into the army. Luckily for Tate, Arturia's tiny population meant it could only muster 20,000 conscripts. Meanwhile on Ryu 108, King Ragnar Lothbrok heard of Arturia's defeat in the Eirewood and sent 2,500 soldiers to Arturia to help Weasel and Arturius. By the time the conscripts were ready and Lothbrok's reinforcements had arrived, Tate and Jones had taken Caerbannog and were preparing to take Castle Arturia.

Battle

Weasel and King Arturius decided that the best strategy was to have their archers and catapults face Caerbannog, which would push the Tatians out of Caerbannog and into the Cowlands, much rougher and more defensible terrain where the rest of his troops would be waiting. The strategy went well for them, with them even managing to destroy one of Tate's walkers with a catapult before Tate decided to move his troops into the Cowlands. When Tate's forces entered the Cowlands, they were immediately attacked by the Arturian Knights in front of them and flanked by the reinforcements from Ryu 108 stationed on the cliffs to the south. However, the Arturians' weapons were too weak to pierce the armor on Tate's walkers, allowing them to punch holes in Arturian formations and escape the maneuver. As the Tatians advanced through the Cowlands, however, the formations they broke through continually harassed them from behind, inflicting heavy losses. During this time, the one heavy walker the Tatians had accidentally waded into Loch Nimue, shorting out its electronics and temporarily disabling it (though it was eventually repaired after the battle). During this time, Weasel and King Arturius were preparing to enter the battle themselves, as only they had any hope of stopping Tate. As Tate's forces approached the castle, the Arturian Conscripts initiated a frontal assault on them while the 108ers and Knights attempted to squeeze them in from behind. It seemed the Arturians were poised to win when Tate used Shadow Magic to sneak through the gates of Castle Arturia. Meanwhile, Sir Michael Jones sabotaged Weasel's and King Arturius's armor before formally betraying them and attempting to fight them. Sir Michael Jones eventually landed hits on the weakened Weasel and King Arturius that knocked them out, but stopped just short of killing them. At that point, Tate entered the room and placed the Horned Crown on their heads, transforming them into the evil Pendragon. The Pendragon's first act was to brutally cook Sir Michael Jones alive with his breath and eat him. Tate, realizing that he could not control this beast, left the planet before the same could happen to him. As Tate was leaving, The Pendragon emerged from Castle Arturia and set fire to large portions of the Arturian Army, turning the tide of the battle. The Arturians now had too few troops to defend Castle Arturia and were forced to retreat south.

Aftermath

Weasel and King Arturius would be in a state of suspended animation for the next 10 years, trapped deep inside the evil soul of The Pendragon. The surviving Arturians from the battle first attempted to go to Caerbannog and hide out there, but were eventually defeated and forced further south to Camp Caliburn, which they successfully defended. The rest of Arturia would be subjected to the tyrannical rule of The Pendragon, who took control of Sir Michael Jones's Froudling Army after the battle and would go on to use it to terrorize the citizens of Arturia. Weasel's sword, the Sword of Caliber, was entrusted to Sir Terry Gilliam, who became the new leader of the Knights of the Square Table in Arturius's absence. The Tatian Legionnaires who survived the battle remained on the planet as a small garrison in charge of defending Castle Arturia. The Pendragon would go on to asexually produce seven dragon offspring: Caoranach the Fire-Spitter, The Ice Wyrm, Catalan the Lightning Lizard, The Jabberwock, The Bane Wyrm, The Black Dragon, and The White Dragon. These dragons would terrorize the Arturian countryside for the next 10 years, killing Knights and citizens alike.
