Chief Ross

Chief Ross was born on Caput Tatiium sometime during the 19 years between the Battle of Awal Kabab and the Battle of Castle Arturia. When his father died sixteen years later, Ross became chief of the Bearothuk Tribe in the Arctic. Already situated in hostile terrain, all the Arctic tribes were required to give a quarter of their food every year to Tate as tribute. One year, Ross refused, and Tate sent two legions in response. With even his strongest warriors proving no match for Tate's army, the Tatians burned their magnificent capital, melting the city to a watery grave. The Bearothuk, now much fewer in number, were forced to build tiny igloo villages scattered across the Arctic to live in. When the Tatians came knocking at his door again, Ross swallowed his pride and agreed to start paying the yearly tribute again. The Bearothuk, now scattered and weak, saw no benefits in attacking Tate directly. Instead, Ross came up with the idea of smuggling some Bearothuk off-planet to fight with the Ishgas. The plan worked, and the Bearothuk Expeditionary Warriors helped win a number of victories against the Tatians. Weasel and Taftenkhamun eventually ran into a Bearothuk on Rahasy, and learned of the horrible things Tate does to his subjects on Caput Tatiium. A few months later, Weasel and his friends finally arrived on Caput Tatiium to defeat Tate and finish the war. When Weasel and his friends got to The Arctic, Ross and the Bearothuk helped them learn how to survive the intense cold and helped them make sneak attacks on Tatians. Ross eventually was in the procession of the planet's chiefs that helped summon The Great Spirit. Decades later, Chief Ross's grandson Zane was born as the Man of Light and Shadow.
