Plain as Day
"No one has ever seen God, not so much as a glimpse. This one-of-a-kind God-Expression, who exists at the very heart of the Father, has made him plain as day." John 1:18 (The Message)
No man alive has ever seen God, save Jesus Christ. God's Word tells us that "no man can see God and live." (Exodus 33:20) Jesus Christ was God's Son. He not only knew his Father well; he was the spitting image of Him. Jesus had an intimate relationship with his Father. Jesus knew the Father's character and His plans and he reflected them while on earth. Jesus gave us a wonderful vision of who God is. If we look at Jesus and his walk here on earth, we will get a glimpse of God. As the text states, Jesus made who God is plain as day! So take the time to know Jesus and thus to know your Father. Jesus reached out to the humble in heart. He gathered around him the lowly; the outcasts of society. He reached out to the poor and the hurting. His compassion was abundant. His desire was to heal and never to hurt. His wisdom was amazing. He knew how to handle every situation perfectly. Jesus' life was all about grace and mercy. All these are but a reflection of his Father and our Father. How blessed we are to have been given such a clear picture of who God is!
Father, thank you for sending your Son. To know Jesus is to love him and to know you is to love you! Help us to know you more as we study your Word and learn more of you through your Son. It is because we have learned how wonderful a Father you truly are that we cannot help but praise your name above all others! Worthy are you of honor and glory and power! Amen
