The Lord God Almighty is Holy
"...Day and night, they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.’" Revelations 4:8
This passage, though speaking in the symbolism of Revelation, speaks a truth to us today: those who truly know the Lord God Almighty stand in awe of Him. Whether it is day or night, the feeling is the same; He is worthy of our praise and adoration! While it would be impossible for us to continually repeat this phrase and never stop, the sentiment can be ours, day and night. We can have praise in our hearts and worship ready to spring forth from our lips, knowing that the Lord God Almighty is holy, and that His holiness had no beginning and will have no end. He is worthy of our love and adoration, no matter what takes place in our lives. Whether good, bad, joy or sorrow crosses our paths, God is worthy of our praise. For, while we were yet sinners, He sent His only begotten Son to this earth to suffer and die that we might have life! For that alone, He is worthy of our praise and honor: but that is not where God left us. He went on to adopt us as His sons and daughters, giving us the precious promise of an eternal inheritance. We are not worthy of what He has done for us, and yet we live lives of grace...lives we do not deserve, with a future that is full of hope and glory. Just as these four creatures in Revelation never cease repeating, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come," neither let us lose this same feeling of total awe. The God we worship and who welcomes us into His presence is worthy of more praise than we can ever give Him! May we never cease to worship and praise His holy name. Worthy are you, O God, to receive glory and honor and praise for evermore! Amen.
Holy, holy, holy are You, God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. Father, You are worthy of our praise. You, who have always existed and will never cease to exist. There is no one like You, save Your Son, Jesus Christ. I praise You for Him and the reflection He is of You. May all praise and glory and honor be Yours today and forevermore! Amen
