Created For His Glory
“Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by my name whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6, 7
This text has applications on a number of levels. God will not forget his people Israel and will bring them back to the land He gave them for His glory. It also applies to all of mankind, for all were made for His glory and God will not rest until all of His children, whom He created will come back to Him. To those of us who have been adopted into his family by the blood of Christ, to those of us who He has reached by grace, this text has special meaning. We are called by His name, He is our Father and we are His sons and daughters. He loved us while we were yet sinners and called us from the ends of the earth that we might bring Him glory and honor. His great love and affection are ours; He will not stop drawing us closer and closer to Himself until we are home with Him. There is no stronger love than the love of a parent for a child, this is the kind of love that God, our Father, has for us. He sent Christ to us, He ministers to us and His Spirit abides with us all for the purpose of bringing us to Him. Justin Edwards, a preacher in the 1860’s said it best, “It is for his own glory that God begins and carries forward the work of redemption in men’s souls, and he will make every ransomed spirit in heaven an eternal monument of his praise.” I want to be that eternal monument of praise for Him, don’t you?
Father, thank You for Your undying love, a love that will not rest until I am home with You. Thank You for Your plan of salvation that made me Your daughter. Continue to make me into that eternal monument of praise for You that I might bring You glory and honor for all eternity! Amen
