The Gift of God
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8 KJV
Salvation: how wonderful it is to know that we have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is not something that we can earn, for there is nothing we could ever do or say that would make us right with God. No amount of good works, whether laying down our lives for others, or giving all our money to feed to poor, will bring us salvation. There is only one way to be saved and that is through the blood of Christ Jesus, our Lord. Salvation is a gift, a gift from God. It is a gift that cost Him dearly, for there can be no greater pain that a father will ever experience than to watch his own son be brutalized and put to death by the very people he hoped to save. This is the very essence of God’s grace, that he would give us a gift, the gift of life when we deserved death. We are so unworthy and yet His grace reached down and made us acceptable in His sight, through the blood of Christ. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, a gift for which we can never repay Him. Praise Him for the gift of Salvation today
Father, thank You for the gift of salvation. I know that it cost You more than I will ever know. Thank You for giving me the gift of grace. May that gift change me forever. Amen
