Prove Faithful
"Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful." 1 Corinthians 4:2
God has entrusted us with stewardship. Whatever job you find yourself in, wherever you find the Lord leading you, that is where faithfulness is required. It matters not how important the job is. Whether you are a student, a wife and mother, or an executive at a corporate office, wherever you are is where your stewardship lies. That is where faithfulness is required. So be the best you can be, wherever you are. This Scripture does not state that we must be successful at what has been entrusted to us, but only faithful. Results are God's business, not ours. Our business is to put effort into all that we do, that faithful, persevering, running with all our might, "never giving up" kind of effort. This is especially true when the results seem disappointing to us. Discouragement is not an excuse for giving up. We must persevere when things get tough; that is what faithfulness is all about. God has trusted us to serve Him right where we are. We bear His Son's name and Jesus Christ's reputation depends upon our faithfulness. Let it never be said of us that we are quitters. Let us never bring shame upon the name of our loving Savior. Colossians 3:23 & 24 tells us "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." So go forth this day with the determination to be faithful to your Lord to bring honor and glory to his name and to prove faithful!
Father, how we thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you! Help us to focus all our efforts on serving you faithfully. What a relief to know that the results of our efforts are in your hands and all that you require of us is that we keep on going! Give us the strength to be faithful even when life brings disappointment. Help us to persevere to the very end, that we might bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ! Amen.
