Salvation and Life Through Jesus
"The Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel, which means God with us." Isaiah 7:14; Matt 1:23
"Do not be afraid Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." Luke 1:30–33
For thousands of years, mankind had suffered in sin, waiting for redemption. When all seemed lost, God sent Immanuel, God with us! He was sent in the form of a baby to poor earthly parents. Yet it was through this infant child, Jesus, that we might be restored to God and gain life. It was this baby who lay in a manger in a dirty barn who would save us. This child of Bethlehem would one day walk the road to Calvary and there die for our redemption. This tiny infant, who lay sleeping, would one day become the Savior of the world. Yet, the world had no idea what a great event had taken place in Bethlehem that Christmas morning! They slept on, oblivious to the birth of their Savior. Most had no idea that Immanuel, "God with us", would now walk amongst them. They were blinded by their own unrealistic expectations of how a king would enter the world. There was no room for him in the Inn, nor in the hearts of men.
Praise be to God that He has opened our eyes that we might see this baby for who he truly was! This Jesus was Immanuel, God with us: God bringing us healing, salvation and life through His Son! Hallelujah!
Father, thank You for bringing us healing and salvation through your Son. Thank You for your plan of restoration for the whole world and thank You for our sanctification. Thank You for a love that would not let us go. May we never take that love for granted. Amen
