Trust In Him
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8
There is no question about the fact that we can trust God with whatever comes into our lives. He has been faithful to us, even when we were not faithful to Him. He has never given up on us, even when we may have given up on ourselves. Trusting God should be a way of life for one who is His. There are times when we find ourselves in those difficult situations where we can't see our way clearly. Other times, when our hearts are so heavy, we feel weighed down to the ground. When life hits us where it hurts, we can pour out our hearts to our Father, for He is our refuge. That is where we need to go to find comfort and help and safety. Too often, we seek our comfort and help from other sources, but they never really satisfy like going to our Father does. He is the one who truly understands. He loves us and knows what is best for us. He will take care of us and see us through any situation. He is our safe haven when the whirlwinds threaten to send us spinning into oblivion. He is the Father who sought us out and adopted us even though we were not worthy of being called his son/daughter. He is the one who is always listening to us, no matter what time of night or day. Indeed, we can trust Him. Nothing can touch us when our Father's arms surround us. It doesn't mean that the winds will be stilled and the storm will cease. It may be that our Father will hold us safely in his arms while the winds and the storm rage around us. No matter the circumstances, no matter the storm, there is no safer place to be than the arms of our Father.
Father, thank you for always being there for us when we pour out our hearts to you. You always listen and you always care. You are trustworthy, to be sure. Father, help us to remember that sometimes the storms of life are there to strengthen us and it would not be in our best interest to have them cease. Help us to be strong when the storms of life rage. Thank you, Father, that no matter the situation you are there for us. You are our refuge, our safe haven; and your arms are always open. Amen
