Look to the LORD
"Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always." Psalm 105:4
When we look to ourselves for strength to overcome any given situation, we find failure. Human strength has no place in spiritual warfare. It is worthless and until we are able to face that fact we will find ourselves failing over and over again. It is only when we look to the LORD and ask for His strength that we can find victory in all of life’s circumstances. It is a simple act, but one which we resist so. David tells us in this Psalm that we should seek his face always...there is the key. When we have made God such an integral part of our lives, that we seek constantly to be in His presence, then and only then will we be able to find total victory in our lives. We will not have to think, Oh, I need to ask the LORD for his strength, it will be an automatic response. Trouble surfaces, we are living in the Father’s presence, there is no need to go and find him, he is right there waiting for us, we look at his and utter "Help me, LORD." It will be then that we live and move in His strength, not our own. It will be then that our hearts will rejoice when we see the strength of the LORD take over in the struggles of live and we will be triumphant. Let us resolve to "seek his face always," to live in his presence, that we might always look to Him in trials and struggles and seek his strength. Victory will be ours.
Father, help me to seek You more and more in my life. I know that I need You with me always. Help me to live in Your presence that I might live in Your strength and power. I need to seek Your advice and help in every part of my life, but I allow the distractions of this life to cloud you from my view. Forgive me for allowing this and help me to keep my focus on You. Amen
