Know the Lord

“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord.”  

Hosea 4:3

How I long to know the Lord! He has touched my life in such a profound way. I have felt His touch, as He lovingly reached down and drew me to Himself. I have experienced the love of a Father that is most unnerving in its grace and mercy. I have seen a God that cared more for His creation than Himself. All this makes me long to know Him more. This is the quest that I am on, to know God. Hosea promises that as I continue on this search, I will learn more and more and one day I shall know Him as He knows me. When I take my last breath here on earth, and my final act of faith is accomplished, 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells me I will see Him face to face. “Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face; now I know in part; but then I shall know even as I am known.” How I long for that day when I will truly know God in full! I love the words of Pascal when he wrote, “The world hath not known Thee, but I have known Thee. Joy! Joy! Joy! Tears of Joy!” If we can feel this way on this side of the veil about the God who has revealed Himself to us, how will we feel on the other side when we see Him face to face? We can only wonder.

Father, I long to know You more. You continue to reveal yourself to me and with each revelation comes more adoration and love for You. You are my all in all and I love You with all my heart! Continue to reveal Yourself to me until the day You take me home and I will see You face to face. Amen
