Rescued
"God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He's set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating." Col. 1:13, 14 (The Message)
How true this statement is! We have all been rescued from filthy dead-end alleys that went nowhere; from dark, stinking dungeons that kept us prisoners to sin. God rescued us from the pit and set us up in the kingdom of His Son. The only way of escape was through the Son he loved so much, Jesus Christ. God gave us His beloved Son. He washed us in His blood and our sins are whiter than snow because of Him! Indeed, we were doomed to keep repeating the sins in our lives; but, no more, for Christ has saved us and given us a new identity and a new home. We are no longer held prisoner by sin, surrounded by darkness. Christ's light has shined brightly in our hearts, exposing sins that we never knew existed. Thank God he didn't leave us there, wallowing in sin; He lifted us up, cleaned us off and walks with us every hour of the day. It is only because of Christ in our lives that we are able to walk in the light, free from the bondage and despair of sin. Praise be to God for His unspeakable gift.
Praise You, Lord, for Your mercies and grace. You did not leave us in dead end alleys and the dark dungeons of sin, but You lifted us up and gave us freedom through Christ Jesus our Lord. We are forever grateful to You for this unspeakable gift; a gift we did not deserve, a gift we can never repay. Thank You for Your abounding grace. AmenÂ
