Strengthened With All Power
"Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience and joyfully give thanks to the Father." Colossians 1:11,12
What a promise this is! We have been promised the strength to move forward with "all power according to HIS glorious might." The might of our Father in heaven is unbelievable. It was that might that caused the entire Universe to come into existence. It was that might that caused it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights and stop when He commanded it. It was that might that caused the Red Sea to part. It was that might that helped David kill a giant. It was that might that made fire on Elijah's altar that was soaked with water. It was that might that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. That is the glorious might that is available to us if we will only stop trying to do things in our own strength. Do you have a trial too heavy to bear? Give it to the Lord to bear; his strength will see you through. Working in his power, it is amazing the endurance we have! Fatigue is a thing of the past, patience is suddenly there, and joy fills our hearts as we thank the Father who has seen us through the unthinkable.
Father; help us to give us the control to you! How foolish we are to struggle and strain to accomplish what you can accomplish with a word. Help us to see you standing beside us, waiting to help. Make us aware of your presence in all of our experiences. Father, strengthen us with your power! Give us great endurance through your strength that we might abound in patience and joy. Thank you for this promise; may we use it to your glory and honor! Amen
