He Will Sanctify Us
"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it." 1 Thessalonians. 5:23, 24
HE will do it! Do what? Verse 23 states that he will sanctify us through and through: "May God himself, sanctify you through and through." What a promise from a faithful Father! In Phil. 1:6, Paul states his confidence in God, that the good work he began in His people, He will bring to completion. GOD is the one doing the work, bringing to completion the project that He started. The project is you and me; Paul says in Ephesians that we are God's workmanship. God is working hard on you and me and as our text states, "He will do it!" It is God who initiates salvation, who continues it, and who will one day bring it to its ultimate consummation. On that day, we will stand before our God, perfected and sanctified through and through, and we will know who did all the work. Let us praise Him today for the work that God is doing in us. The work He has promised to complete! Thank you, Father, for your faithfulness!
Father, I praise You that You will do the impossible in my life. You have promised to keep me blameless until Jesus takes me home. I am so thankful that it is not something that I need to do, but that You are doing the work in me. Thank You for sanctifying me through and through by the blood of Jesus. Keep me until that day when he will take me home. Amen
