Blessed Is The Man
Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD will never count against him." Romans 4:7,8
How very blessed we are that our sins have been covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and they are forever forgiven, never to be counted against us! This is cause for tremendous rejoicing indeed! It is also cause for action on our part. In addition to falling on our knees and thanking our Father in heaven and our Lord Jesus Christ for their sacrifice for us, it should call us to a life of bestowing grace and forgiveness on others. In the parable of the servant who owed a great debt, the king forgave his debt entirely. Later, when this servant chose to not show mercy to another, Jesus in no uncertain terms showed that this servant's unmerciful actions to one who had a much smaller debt was unthinkable and he paid the price! No one deserves forgiveness, least of all us, therefore that shouldn't factor into the equation at all, and it is not a matter of what anyone deserves. For if that were the case, death would be the price we would pay. We need to bestow grace and mercy upon others, just as it has been bestowed upon us, FREELY and without end! We have been forgiven much; therefore we must forgive much in return. This is the best way we can show our Father how very much we appreciate His love and sacrifice for us. In this way, it can be our way of saying thank you. Next time someone sins against you, instead of demanding justice, reach out with open arms and forgive them their transgression in the same manner you have been forgiven. Your Father in heaven will be smiling!
Father in heaven, how blessed we are indeed to have been showered with your forgiveness. Thank you, Jesus, for covering us with your blood. We can never thank you enough for your mercy and grace, which flow so freely to us. Father; help us to shower all around us with this same mercy and grace. Remove from us all bitterness and resentment and replace them with your love, so that forgiveness will flow to all with whom we come in contact. This is our way of saying thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Smile on us today! AmenÂ
